The biggest takeaway from London Fashion Week AW25? Resilience and creativity will always reign in London. Despite being a quieter season — with its slimmer schedule reflecting the myriad of challenges British designers face, brands rose to the challenge. From tentpoles such as Burberry, Roksanda, Erdem and Simone Rocha, all delivering strong collections to young designers including Completedworks, Edeline Lee, Labrum, Tolu Coker, Kazna Asker and Paolo Carzana proving their ability to world-build, the week did not disappoint. Here, discover VogueBusiness’s London team’s breakdown of the key highlights and takeaways. https://www.voguebusiness.com/story/fashion/4-key-takeaways-from-london-fashion-week-aw25?utm_source=whatsapp&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=channel

Jonathan Anderson’s eponymous brand JW Anderson is missing from the London Fashion Week schedule, while Loewe, of which he is creative director, sat out from the Paris Men’s schedule in January. For the upcoming Paris womenswear season, the brand will host a co-ed presentation, rather than a runway show, on 10 March. Aside from sparking speculation about Anderson’s next moves, his absence raises the question: which London designers have what it takes to reach the level of Anderson one day? Here, experts break down what has made Anderson so successful and which designers could step into the spotlight next. https://www.voguebusiness.com/story/fashion/who-is-the-next-jonathan-anderson?utm_source=whatsapp&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=channel

What’s next for Jil Sander? Yesterday, the Milan-based house announced the end of Luke and Lucie Meier’s seven-year tenure as its co-creative directors. Their Autumn/Winter 2025 collection at Milan Fashion Week marked the final show under their creative leadership. Reflecting on the Meiers’s by-current-standards lengthy tenure, OTB Group chairman Renzo Rosso thanked them for their “vision, passion for excellence and dedication to the brand”, in a statement. Joining the brand after Rodolfo Paglialunga’s run, the couple brought stability back to the label while engaging with craft to create a vision of Sander that was simultaneously true to its origins and specific to their vision. However, since a successor has not yet been named, rumours have already begun circulating about who will take over as the brand’s next creative lead. Here, Vogue Business's Luke Letich details their recent exit. https://www.voguebusiness.com/story/fashion/luke-and-lucie-meier-bow-out-at-jil-sander?utm_source=whatsapp&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=channel

London Fashion Week has arrived. After a nine-day gap, #LFW AW25 kicks off today, with a leaner schedule than usual. Some brands have dropped out or switched formats — going digital or swapping runway presentations for dinners. Nevertheless, a flurry of debuts and SS Daley’s last-minute addition to the schedule are bound to revive the lull between New York and London. Plus, heavyweight mainstays — Burberry, Erdem and Emilia Wickstead — will no doubt up the ante. Here, Vogue Business breaks down what’s ahead. https://www.voguebusiness.com/story/fashion/london-fashion-week-cheat-sheet-autumn-winter-2025?utm_source=whatsapp&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=channel

What’s in the to-do list for Versace’s next owner? Versace may not be officially for sale, but reports of a buyout from Capri build. Capri CEO John Idol said in the company’s third-quarter earnings call that he has read the marketplace speculation and that Capri will always listen to interested parties. He continued: “Currently, that’s not what our strategy is. Currently, our strategy is [that] we’re going to build three businesses, as we’ve got three incredible assets. And where people are interested in parts or the whole, we will always have that conversation.” Should a sale happen, whoever comes out on top would have a reinvigoration project on their hands. Here, we lay out the top priorities for Versace’s potential new owner, according to experts. https://www.voguebusiness.com/story/fashion/a-to-do-list-for-versaces-next-owner?utm_source=whatsapp&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=channel

Fashion’s creative director turnover is giving us all whiplash. While this constant changing of the guard is exciting, it’s also exhausting, especially considering the elephant in the room: the lack of diversity. Out of 35 brands analysed by #VogueBusiness (the top 30 luxury brands in the Vogue Business Index, plus five new designer appointments), only 10 positions are held by women and three by men of colour. Here, Maliha Shoaib unpacks the industry’s diversity problem and why it’s holding fashion back. What did designers, buyers, publicists and critics think of this season’s NYFW? Maybe it was the snowstorm, maybe it was the American political situation, or maybe it was the absence of some of the city’s most popular names, but New York Fashion Week came in for some sharp critiques this season. It “limped” along. It was plagued by “sameyness.” It was “mostly ho-hum.” But was it, really? Michael Kors, for his part, has had enough of the city’s inferiority complex. “This is New York,” he said. “Why would you chase Europe? I don’t even mean the runways. I mean the streets. Everywhere you go in the world, people want a sense of ease.” We thought it was time for a temperature check, so we asked designers, buyers, and our fellow editors and critics how they think the New York season went, why it’s so hard to compete with Paris, and what a perfect spring 2026 New York Fashion Week in September would look like. Here are their answers. https://www.voguebusiness.com/story/fashion/designers-buyers-publicists-and-critics-weigh-in-on-the-nyfw-shows?utm_source=whatsapp&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=channel
