தென் தமிழ்நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்த கல்வி, வணிகம், சுகாதாரம், விருந்தோம்பல், இளைஞர் ஸ்டார்ட் அப்கள் மற்றும் பெண் தொழில்முனைவோர், குறு, சிறு, நடுத்தர நிறுவனங்கள் உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு துறைகளைச் சேர்ந்த பெருவாரியான உள்ளூர் தலைவர்கள் மற்றும் பல்வேறு கல்வி நிறுவனங்களின் மாணவர்களுடன் கலந்துரையாடினேன். ஏராளமான சிரமங்கள் மற்றும் முறைசார் தடங்கல்கள் இருந்தபோதிலும் வாழ்க்கையை சிறப்பாக மாற்றும் இவர்களின் நேர்மறையான ஆற்றலையும் தொழில்முனைவுத் திறனையும் காண்பது ஊக்கமளிப்பதாக இருந்தது. இந்தப் பகுதி, மனித ஆற்றல் மற்றும் இயற்கை வளங்களால் நிறைந்துள்ளது, ஆனாலும் இது புறக்கணிக்கப்பட்டு பின்தங்கியுள்ளது போன்ற உணர்வைத் தருகிறது. தொழில்மயமாக்கலுக்கான மிகப்பெரிய சாத்தியக்கூறுகள் இருந்தபோதிலும், இங்குள்ள மக்கள் வாய்ப்புகள் புறக்கணிக்கப்பட்டவர்களாக உணர்கிறார்கள். இளைஞர்களிடையே காணப்படும் போதைப்பொருள்/போதைப்பொருள் துஷ்பிரயோகத்தின் சிக்கல்கள் தீவிரமானவை. ஊடக தலைப்புச் செய்திகளில் இடம்பெறும் திட்டமிடப்பட்ட போராட்டங்களுக்கு மாறாக, தேசிய கல்விக் கொள்கை 2020 -ஐ அமல்படுத்துவதற்கு பெரும் தேவை உள்ளது. மாநில அரசின் கடுமையான இரு மொழிக் கொள்கை காரணமாக அண்டை மாநிலங்களைச் சேர்ந்த இளைஞர்களுடன் ஒப்பிடும்போது இந்த பிராந்திய இளைஞர்கள் வாய்ப்புகளை இழந்தவர்களாக உணர்கிறார்கள். துரதிருஷ்டவசமாக ஹிந்தியை எதிர்க்கிறோம் என்ற பெயரில் எந்தவொரு தென்மாநில மொழிகளையும் கூட படிக்க அனுமதிக்கப்படாதவர்களாக அவர்கள் உணர்கிறார்கள். இது உண்மையிலேயே நியாயமற்றது. மொழியை படிப்பதற்கான தேர்வு நமது இளைஞர்களுக்கு இருக்க வேண்டும்.

Interacted with large number of leaders from cross sections of south Tamil Nadu including education, business, health, hospitality, youth startups, women entrepreneurs, MSME sectors. Also students from several institutions. It was encouraging to see their positive energy and enterprise transforming lives for the better despite numerous difficulties and systemic obstacles. This region is rich in human and natural resources and yet it feels like a neglected backyard. Despite huge potential for industrialisation people here feel neglected of opportunities. Problems of substance/ drug abuse among youth is serious. There is huge demand for implementation of the NEP 2020. The youth of this region feel hugely deprived of opportunities compared to those from neighboring states due to the rigid two language policy of the State Government. They feel that Unfortunately in the name of opposition to Hindi they are not allowed to study even any other South Indian languages. This is indeed unfair. Our youth must have a choice to study language.

Governor along with a large number of enthusiastic devotees participated in the event celebrating 193rd Avathara divas of Ayya Vaikunthar at Tirunelveli. Heads of Ayya Pathis including Avathara Pathi where Ayya had first appeared and Swamithoppu Pathi the primary among the Ayya Vazhi followers blessed the event. The book Akilathirratu Ammanai containing Ayya Vaikunthar’s teachings was released for the devotees and masses. Ayya spread the message of universal brotherhood and compassion which the core values of the Sanatan Dharma which are the core strength of our nation also. At a time when some vested interests are spreading hatred and lies with intention to weaken Bharat, teachings of Ayya Vaikunthar are more relevant than ever before.
