In view of the flood situation in the state, the Department of Health & Family Welfare is operating on a war footing to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services, availability of essential medicines, rapid deployment of medical teams, and strengthened disease surveillance in flood-affected areas. All efforts are being directed towards safeguarding public health and ensuring timely intervention wherever needed.

Chaired a comprehensive review meeting of the Department of Health & Family Welfare today to assess ongoing initiatives, service delivery, and future priorities in strengthening Assam’s public health system. Discussions focused on enhancing infrastructure, improving access to quality medications, and ensuring timely implementation of key health programmes across all districts.

Little Pragyan Gogoi, the second child of Shri Pranab Gogoi and Smt. Smritirekha Gogoi from Aidew Habi village in Bengenabari, Charaideo, was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect (CHD) at just two months old during a routine screening under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK). Swift intervention by our Department of Health & Family Welfare led to his referral to GMCH and a successful surgery at Health City Hospital, Guwahati, all fully funded by the Government of Assam. Today, Pragyan is healthy and thriving. His smile is our greatest reward.

Attended a virtual meeting with Hon’ble BJP North East In-charge, Dr. Sambit Patra Ji, and senior BJP leaders of all seven North Eastern States today. The discussion focused on ongoing flood situation across the North East, mobilising BJP karyakartas for organising relief camps and rehabilitation efforts, and enhancing cooperation between our state BJP parties to help the flood affected people of our states.

In the last 4 years, our government under the visionary leadership of HCM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma dangoriya has introduced several transformative schemes & initiatives to empower the people. Today, I chaired two separate virtual meetings with the District Commissioners and MLAs of Goalpara and Biswanath respectively, and Hon’ble CEM RHAC, to review the status of implementation of #CMAAA 2.0, Orunodoi 3.0, Mission Basundhara 3.0, and construction of Model Anganwadi Centers, etc., in the districts. During the meetings, I also took stock of the ongoing flood situation, and relief works that are currently underway.
