Mufakkir-e-Islam, Hadrat Mawlana Ali Mia Nadwi (rahmatullahi alayh) mentioned; “Intelligence alone will be of no benefit unless it is accompanied with respect. Thousands of intelligent people were destroyed. Extra intelligence sometimes becomes a means of getting misguided, and in fact a means of misguiding others. A study of history will show that any deviated sect that sprung up in Islam, often the founder was extremely intelligent. However, it seems that in his youth he must have made such a mistake because of which he received this punishment. Therefore, respect the Qur’an and Sunnah, respect the Shari’ah and respect your Asātidha and the pious. This is foremost. Without this nothing can be achieved.”

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: "The best and most virtuous of all of the days of the servant is the day of his repentance to Allah." [Zād Al-Ma'ād 3/512]

In order for you to fly high in the heavens, you must look down and humble yourself in the earth. — Shaykh al-Hadīth Mawlānā Zakariyya رح

“The true essence of sacrifice is the annihilation of the self (fanā-e-nafs). That is why Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was commanded to sacrifice his son, not himself. Because slaughtering one’s child with one’s own hand is far more painful and difficult for the self than slaughtering one’s own neck with one’s own hand. No father in his full senses would ever willingly accept such an act…In fact, offering one’s own life would seem much easier and simpler. And this is precisely the meaning of the annihilation of the self: to go against the desires of one’s own ego. This is why the command to sacrifice one’s child holds much more meaning than sacrificing oneself.” — Hakim al-Ummah, Mawlana Ashraf Ali Thanwi رح

“Annihilation (fanā) is the essence of the ultimate Hajj, and annihilation is also the essence of perfect sacrifice. — The ego is annihilated in both, but because sacrifice is purely against reason and solely a pain for the ego, although it is a form of annihilation, it does not equal the Hajj. There is a difference between perfection (tām) and completeness (atamm) in both. This is the true essence of both.” — Hakim al-Ummah, Mawlana Ashraf Ali Thanwi رح

Awza’i رحمه الله said, “I realized that people were reserving things (their duas, needs, wishes) for the day of Arafah to ask Allāh for them. And some of them used to say: ‘For fifty years I have been supplicating on the day of Arafah and the year does not go by except that I see the answer of my dua come to pass as the morning light (as clear as day).’” [Lataif al Ma’arif]

Ibn Hajar رحمه الله said: “Expressing joy on the occasion of the ’Eids is one of the symbols of Islam.” [Fath al-Baari Vol 2 Pg 443]

“The Days of Tashrīq combine both blessings of the body and the heart for the believers: the blessings of the body through eating and drinking, and the blessings of the heart through dhikr and gratitude. This is a completion of all blessings. Furthermore, whenever they thank Allah for a blessing, their gratitude in itself is another blessing; and this requires further gratitude. And gratitude never ends.” — Ibn Rajab (raḥimahullāh)

Imām As-Sanūsī (Raḥimahullāh) said: “Abundant sending of Ṣalāh and Salām upon him (Ṣallallāhu ‘Alayhi wa Sallam) is among the highest means of protection from fears and dangers, and attaining the highest ranks. And if the virtue of sending Ṣalāh upon him were only what is mentioned in the Ṣaḥāḥ, that ‘Whoever sends Ṣalāh once upon our Master and Patron Muḥammad (peace be upon him), it is as if he sent ten upon him,’ that alone would be sufficient.”
