2025 will be the second year of our Move FAST- Get prepared work programme. We are looking forward to seeing the EuFMD Member Nations representatives at our 46 General Session on 6-7 May and to updating all on the activities since our 45 session in 2023. The team is preparing a number of F2F workshops, including Real-Time training courses, an FMD Emergency preparedness, and a Passive surveillance workshop. We will also hold a number of online courses, one of which was opened to all Member Nations in response to the FMD outbreak. We will also be working on the Minimum Biorisk Management Standards, the openFMD platform and implementing technical projects in partnership.

The EuFMD, in partnership with the World Reference Laboratory for FMD publishes a quarterly report on the foot-and mouth disease situation, based on a number of information sources. In the last quarter of 2024, the WRLFMD reported vaccine-matching data for samples received from Indonesia and for South American field isolates received from PANAFTOSA, Brazil. New VP1 sequences were received from Iran (from GenBank), Palestinian AT (Ministry of Agriculture Veterinary Services and Animal Health) and Türkiye (Şap Enstitüsü, Türkiye).
