Their optimism was on display at the 2nd China-Norway Green Cooperation Seminar held on Wednesday in Oslo, under the theme “Sailing Together to A Greener Future.” The event brought together policymakers, industry executives and experts from both countries to explore how their complementary strengths can drive innovation and sustainability in the maritime and green sectors. Even Tronstad Sagebakken, state secretary at Norway’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries, emphasized that Norway and China have longstanding ties, particularly in ocean industries such as shipping, seafood, and maritime technology.

*Singapore container ship catches fire off Kerala coast, Navy diverts INS Surat for help* 09/06/2025, 𝓼𝓮𝓪𝓯𝓪𝓻𝓮𝓻'𝓼 𝓾𝓹𝓭𝓪𝓽𝓮 A Singapore-flagged container ship, MV Wan Hai 503, caught fire off the Kerala coast in India on June 9, 2025. The incident occurred around 12:30 pm, approximately 78 nautical miles away from the Beypore coast. A fire incident was reported on board a Singapore-flagged container vessel, MV Wan Hai 503, off the Kerala coast on Monday, according to a Defence PRO. The underdeck fire was first reported around 10:30 am by the Maritime Operations Centre (MOC) in Mumbai to its counterpart in Kochi. Initially thought to be an explosion, officials later clarified it was a fire.

Filipino Seafarers were arrested‼️ 09/06/2025, 𝓼𝓮𝓪𝓯𝓪𝓻𝓮𝓻'𝓼 𝓾𝓹𝓭𝓪𝓽𝓮 Alias Joy, Marie, and Rose, wives of the three seafarers currently detained at the Berrouaghia facility in Algeria, speak during a press conference at a restaurant in Manila on Friday, June 6. In a statement, they acknowledged that international legal and diplomatic processes take time but emphasized that their families are already suffering emotionally and mentally due to the prolonged uncertainty. 09/06/2025, 𝓼𝓮𝓪𝓯𝓪𝓻𝓮𝓻'𝓼 𝓾𝓹𝓭𝓪𝓽𝓮 CMA CGM took delivery of the CMA CGM Saint-Germain from Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding on 6th June. The vessel was delivered six months earlier than its scheduled delivery date in a naming ceremony held by the Chinese shipbuilder. The CMA CGM Saint-Germain is 399 meters long, 61.3 meters wide, and has a draft of 14.5 meters. The vessel can carry 23,876 containers at a time, along with 2,200 refrigerated containers, being able to haul 220,000 tons at a time. The vessel can carry 18,600 cubic meters of fuel in its Mark III membrane-type fuel tanks and can make a journey of 20,000 nautical miles in a single voyage. It also boasts features such as enhanced operational performance and energy efficiency, an intelligent monitoring and full control system, and automated precision control during berthing.
