As part of the workshop program,the team broke out into smaller groups and visited four of our facilities on a benchmark mission as we are the leading county in MCPR (Modern Contraceptive Prevalence Rate) in Kenya(latest KDHS survey). The teams lauded our county for the progress they witnessed in our facilities and they promised to carry home useful tips to improve their facilities. We appreciate the Ministry of Health-Division of RMNCAH and Engender health for the support and look forward to implementing the scale up of Hormonal IUD and DMPA-SC successfully. The workshop organised by Ministry of Health through the Division of RMNCAH and Engender Health aims at capacity building TOTs to offer mentorships and OJTs to other health care providers with the aim of increasing quality of services and reducing unmet need for family planning. This workshop was officially opened by chief Officers Public Health and Medical services who also took the chance to welcome participants from the other teams to the land of opportunities. #YourHealthOurPriority

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/15M8YkF7gB/ TRACHOMA TRANSITION PLANS VALIDATION WORKSHOP This evening we have concluded an intensive 2-day workshop attended by health departments from Embu, Kitui, Baringo, Turkana & West Pokot Counties; and representatives from ministries of health in Ugandan & Kenyan Governments. The main objectives included; ✅Review of our collective progress & gaps in trachoma elimination ✅Share key highlights from Kenyan & Ugandan transition journeys, ✅Discuss county level resource allocation to sustain elimination efforts ✅ Present innovative & sustainable approaches to support elimination ✅ Validate county trachoma transition Plans and agree on the next steps I'm happy to report that as Embu County we are on course to achieve total elimination well ahead of the global deadline of 2030. This morning our Director Medical services Dr. Eliza Ikiara joined members of the breast cancer support group for their second meeting in the Oncology clinic at Embu Level 5 Hospital. These support groups are valuable resources for individuals facing this disease,which provides space for shared experiences, emotional support and education. They were also joined by a breast Cancer survivor Dionisia Mugo who shared words of encouragement to those affected The department of health will continue to ensure that there is strengthened commodity management, quality laboratory services,human resource for health and strategic information system.
