1/2 Just as you go for regular check-ups to stay healthy, our operations and maintenance (O&M) activities are like “health care” for the electricity system. We perform routine inspections and repairs to keep the power grid in good shape and functioning reliably. These activities ensures the power system runs smoothly, prevents outages, and maintains safety for both workers and the public. They also optimise performance and extends the lifespan of the infrastructure, protecting long-term investments.

3/3 Peak demand refers to the period when electricity consumption is at its highest. This typically occurs when most people are at home, usually between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM. During this time, lights are on both indoors and outdoors, as well as on streets. Numerous electronic devices—such as TVs, radios, phones, and chargers are also used. Activities like cooking, blending, cooling, and heating in homes, businesses, and industries contribute to increased electricity demand. #PoweringKenyans ^JC

2/2 Over the weekend our Nairobi West operations and maintenance (O&M) team carried out routine inspections and maintenance work at the Kenya High Feeder along Mandera and James Gichuru Roads to ensure that our customers continue to enjoy a stable and high-quality power supply. The work also involved trimming trees near power lines. Overgrown trees near power lines can cause unexpected power outages if they fall or their branches come in contact with the electric lines. #PoweringKenyans ^JC
