Attending the FINAS Conference at KICC and engaging with key stakeholders. The event was graced by CS Mutahi Kagwe as the chief guest. A major point of discussion was the urgent need for better coordination between public and private sector investments. Stakeholders strongly advocated for allocating at least 10% of the national budget to agriculture, in line with the CAADP commitments. Currently, the agriculture sector receives less than 3% of the national budget and under 5% of total lending from the financial sector—figures that are far from adequate given the sector’s critical role in food security and economic growth.
