‼️ Israel postpones release of Palestinian hostages This is a major ceasefire violation on the last hostage swap of Phase 1 (day 35/42), claiming Hamas violated the ceasefire & "rituals of humiliation" in the swap But Israel waited until Hamas released the 6 Israeli captives to postpone the release of Palestinians, making this swap incomplete. Israel was obligated to release 602 Palestinian captives incl. 445 people it abducted from Gaza, and 100+ Palestinian women & children/teens — meant to be the biggest so far. Hamas condemned Netanyahu’s “procrastination and stalling tactics” The 6 released by Hamas included Ethiopian-origin Israeli soldier Avera Mengistu who’s been detained in Gaza for nearly 10 years. His family & many accuse Israeli gov’t & society of neglecting to try to return him earlier due to racism — an ex-IOF official once admitted that Avera was a low priority for the public due to “his race” During today's release, Israelis were shocked to see an Israeli hostage voluntarily kiss a Hamas guard's forehead before being handed off to Red Cross (👆🎥)
