Led by the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment, the Framework will transform climate action, channeling data into sector-specific products and applications, disseminated to key stakeholders across the country, especially smallholder farmers on the forefront of climate change. ✨ Today we celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Watch to learn more about how we're addressing some of the challenges faced by women and girls in agricultural and climate research. Closing the gender gap in science requires breaking stereotypes, promoting role models to inspire girls, supporting women's advancement through targeted programs and through policies and actions that promote inclusion, diversity and equity.
📻 It's World Radio Day! We're excited to share a new story from Kenya where climate-smart radio dramas - produced in partnership with community members - and interactive radio talk shows are being used to share context-specific information on climate-smart agriculture and climate services with 400,000+ listeners in arid and semi-arid areas. Radio is more than a powerful information dissemination channel, it can be used as a pathway to effect changes in farming decisions and practices that build climate resilience. One of the radio talk shows we produced included the Kenya Meteorological Department sharing the October-November-December (OND) 2024 forecast which predicted low rains.
