President Chamisa Urges Unity and Strong Opposition in Zimbabwe. Harare – 19 June 2025 Vine Ziwani President Nelson Chamisa has called for a united Zimbabwe anchored on shared values, a common vision, and effective political leadership. Emphasizing the need for both a strong government and a credible opposition, Chamisa warned against political fragmentation, citing the over 116 opposition parties registered by ZEC as a sign of disunity. `Follow and Share Change Radio for Real-Time News and Updates on WhatsApp!` https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Va5kPp2KGGGQkePy4t1q Rejecting political individualism, president Chamisa said he stands for ideals, not personality cults, and declared that his politics are fundamentally different from Zanu PF’s. He stressed the urgency of national unity, saying Zimbabwe needs a “synthesis” — a coming together of ideas to resolve the country’s deep political and economic crises. His comments come amid rising calls for reform and growing public frustration over inflation, unemployment, and political stagnation.

*_Advocate Fadzayi Mahere:_* 🔸Being a briefcase middle man in a deal where the actual supplier gets paid R300 million (the true value of the services) and you get a kickback of R800 million isn’t business. It’s criminal looting. Utongori mbavha iriconnected who is bleeding the fiscus. That’s why you throw the money around like a lunatic. Zvisina kushandirwa ndozvazvinoita. This is why the country is on its knees. Money that’s meant to fund public health, state education and basic services is looted and then spent on useless luxury by convicted criminals. It’s a mess. We need new leaders.🇿🇼 `Follow and Share Change Radio for Real-Time News & Updates on WhatsApp!` https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Va5kPp2KGGGQkePy4t1q

*_US Resumes Student Visa Processing with New Social Media Screening Rules: The US has lifted its suspension on student visa processing, but new screening measures require applicants to make social media profiles public. Consular officers will now review online activity for signs of hostility toward the US, raising privacy concerns among international students preparing to study abroad._* The United States has officially lifted its temporary suspension on student visa (F-1 Visa) processing, bringing relief to thousands of international students. However, the restart comes with a major change: mandatory social media screening. The US State Department announced on Wednesday that all international student and exchange visitor visa applicants must now make their social media profiles public for thorough vetting by consular officers. Why the US Had Paused Student Visa Issuance The student visa program was temporarily halted in May 2025, reportedly as part of internal preparations to tighten digital background checks. The decision, made during the Trump administration, left many prospective students around the world in limbo. With the academic year fast approaching, the delay caused uncertainty for international students trying to plan travel, secure housing, and register for classes in the US. Advertisement New Rule: Make Social Media Accounts Public Under the new rules, student visa applicants are required to: Adjust privacy settings on all social media platforms to public Allow US consular officers to review their posts and messages Cooperate fully with the screening or face possible rejection According to the State Department, refusing to provide social media access may be interpreted as an attempt to hide potentially concerning behaviour. What Are Consular Officers Looking For? US visa officers will now closely examine social media accounts for: `Follow and Share Change Radio for Real-Time News and Updates on WhatsApp!` https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Va5kPp2KGGGQkePy4t1q Posts or content perceived as hostile toward the United States Comments undermining American government institutions or cultural values Any red flags indicating security or ideological threats The department says this enhanced vetting is necessary to ensure that “every single person attempting to visit our country” aligns with US values and poses no risk to public safety. Advertisement How to Apply for a US F-1 Student Visa To apply for a US F-1 Student Visa, follow these steps: Get accepted by a SEVP-approved US school. Receive Form I-20 from your institution. Pay the SEVIS fee online. Complete the DS-160 form on the US visa website. Schedule your visa interview at a US embassy or consulate. Attend the interview with required documents, including Form I-20, passport, financial proof, and academic records. Make sure your social media profiles are public, as enhanced screening now applies. Global Student Community Reacts The policy shift has sparked concern among international students and education advocates. Many worry about the invasion of privacy and the ambiguity surrounding what constitutes “hostile” content. Some students have also expressed fear that older posts, taken out of context, could jeopardise their educational future in the US. Advertisement What This Means for Future Applicants If you’re planning to apply for a US student visa: Review your social media activity before applying Avoid deleting content abruptly, as this may raise suspicion Ensure your profiles are publicly accessible during the application process The US remains one of the top destinations for international education, but with digital scrutiny now part of the process, students will need to be extra cautious. A New Era for US Student Visas While the reopening of student visa services is welcome news, the requirement for social media transparency marks a significant change. Applicants should stay informed, prepare thoroughly, and ensure their online presence reflects positively during the visa review process

*_ARTUZ:_* Zimbabwe's Education Crisis: A Cry for Justice. 19 June 2025 The brutality of the Zimbabwean State has reached an alarming level, directly targeting innocent citizens in a desperate attempt to silence dissent. Yesterday, @PoliceZimbabwe subjected Indho Moyo, a young girl in Form 2, to horrific torture. Their aim? To coerce her into falsely implicating her mother in the recent, peaceful protests for education. This barbaric act has left a child deeply traumatized, a stark reminder of the State's monstrous grip on its own people. `Follow and Share Change Radio for Real-Time News & Updates on WhatsApp!` https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Va5kPp2KGGGQkePy4t1q The police confiscated the cellphone of the young girl asking her to report to the police daily. Today she missed school as she had to report to police. Her Grandfather has also been summoned to the police. The whole family is being targeted. They are treating them like terrorists. Just because one family member is accused of having participated in a peaceful protest. Another victim, Farai Maruce, was severely tortured while in police custody. His "crime" was protesting ahead of the @SADC_News elite Education conference at Rainbow Towers. It is clear the Zimbabwean State has become a predator, terrorizing ordinary citizens while shamelessly shielding corrupt looters. Unjust Detentions and Broken Promises. Currently, eleven dedicated members of our Parents Teachers Association remain unjustly held in Mutare, with no charges brought against them. We know, with grim certainty, that fabricated charges will soon be "cooked up" to justify their unlawful detention. The recent protests under the #SaveOurEducationZw campaign were entirely peaceful, raising legitimate demands for a fundamental right. It's truly tragic to witness police officers, whose own children struggle to access education and whose families are torn apart by economic hardship, being deployed to brutalize their fellow citizens. We are aware of the rising divorce rates among police officers, a direct consequence of their inability to provide for their families. `Follow and Share Change Radio for Real-Time News & Updates on WhatsApp!` https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Va5kPp2KGGGQkePy4t1q A Call to Conscience: Stand with the People. We urgently appeal to all State employees: refuse to follow unlawful orders from the corrupt bosses who are plundering our nation dry. The Union's demands are not excessive; they are essential for the future of Zimbabwe: * Fair wages for teachers and all civil servants – no luxuries, just a living wage. * State-funded education for every single learner. * The right to collective bargaining for all civil servants, and the alignment of the Public Service Act with the 2013 Constitution. * Restoration of vacation leave for all public servants. * Recruitment of more teachers to address the alarming teacher-to-learner ratio, which has soared to 1:150 in some areas. Addressing these critical demands does not threaten @ZANUPF_Official hold on power. On the contrary, genuinely serving the people could be their last chance to salvage some legitimacy. We know there are no lucrative tenders in providing essential services, and those driven by greed (zvigananda) will never support true service delivery. Hope for a New Beginning Yet, we hold onto hope that a few in Cabinet and Parliament still remember the promise of liberation, the spirit of Gutsaruzhinji. We implore these individuals to champion a fresh start for our education system. We applaud every parent who has joined this vital fight. Fellow citizens, this is not just an ARTUZ struggle; it is our collective struggle. We all bear the responsibility to defend the right to inclusive, quality education for every learner. Education is the ultimate solution to our nation's myriad challenges. We must not allow those driven by insatiable greed to destroy the very foundation of our future. #SaveOurEducationZw
