☀️The ransom of a man’s life is his wealth, But the poor hears no rebuke. — Proverbs 13:8 🖤How beautifully the Sage speaks of what true wealth is! This does not mean gold, silver or precious stones, nor influence, power or friendships in high places. Rather, to be truly rich is to have your life sheltered from the wrath of God, which comes upon the world because of sin. Jesus Christ is the only one who can redeem your life. By contrast, the genuine poor is not one who has nothing to eat, or drink, or place to sleep, but is one who is ignorant of his own destiny. One whom the riches, comforts, pleasures and ambitions of this world keep blind and deaf to the threat of eternal death.

"...and they will kill Him, and He will be raised on the third day.” And they were deeply grieved. — Matthew 17:23 How miserable can be a man who does not have his ears open to the eternal truths of God. It is wrong to place God within the limits of our human capacities to understand reality, because reality transcends the material and philosophical realm of the human mind. Christ does not just die. He is also resurrected. But His disciples heard no more of this final and essential remark.

Christians weren't sent to win the world for their own comfort, but for the glory of the Name of Jesus Christ. Christians are not supposed to befriend the world but to overcome it. Christians' priority is telling the truth in love, and not sacrificing the truth in the name of love. True love seeks to pluck souls from darkness not to make them get comfortable in death.

*"and so as to separate between the holy and the profane, and between the unclean and the clean, and so as to instruct the sons of Israel in all the statutes which Yahweh has spoken to them through Moses."* — Leviticus 10:10-11 Is it neutral indeed for christian to drink alcohol? The text refers to the priests, it's true. But let us note what kind of things alcohol is preventing from happening? First, it affects our ability to separate between holy and profane; between what is unclean and what is clean. Second it hinders us from rightfully teaching our children _all_ the statutes of God.

*testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of repentance toward God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.* — Acts 20:21 Both Jews and gentiles need two things while on this Earth: repentance towards God and faith in Jesus Christ.
