*The Ruling on raising the Hands in Supplication during the Friday Khutbah* What is the ruling on raising the hands for the worshipers when saying Aameen during the supplication of the Imam in the Friday Khutbah? And what is the ruling on raising the voice when saying Aameen? *Answer:* It is not prescribed for the Imam or the worshippers to raise their hands during the Friday Khutbah, because the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) did not do so, and neither did his righteous successors, may Allaah be pleased with them. But if the Imam is calling for rain in the Friday Khutbah, it is prescribed for him and the worshippers to raise their hands, because when the Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) prayed for rain, he raised his hands and the people raised their hands. And Allaah, the Most Glorified says: Indeed, in the Messenger of Allaah (Muhammad (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam)) you have a good example to follow. [1] As for saying Aameen to the Imams supplication during the Khutbah, I know of no objection to it, as long as the voice is not raised. And through Allaah is attainted success. Whoever Leaves Something For Allah Allah Will Give Him Something Better! When speaking of how a person leaves something correctly for the sake of Allaah and of a person's truthfulness in that; Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله "said: "Indeed; one may find difficulty in abandoning the things that are customary as well as the habits - that being for whoever abandons them for other than Allaah. As for the one who abandons it truthfully and sincerely from his heart; then he finds no difficulty in abandoning it - except in the initial instant - in order for him to be tested as to: whether he is truthful in its abandonment or untruthful? So, if he is patient upon that difficulty for a short period, then it transforms into pleasant delight. Ibn Sireen said: 'I heard Shuraih swear by Allaah; that a servant never abandoned anything for the sake of Allaah; and subsequently found bereavement over it.' As for their saying: 'whoever leaves off something for Allaah; then Allaah will replace it with better than it' - this is true, and the replacement can be of various types. The most outstanding of that which one can be granted replacement is that of: acquaintance with Allaah and of having love for Him and the tranquility of the heart with regards to Him along with its strength and its enthusiasm and its delight and pleasure of its Lord, The Most High. (Taken from: Rawdhatul Muhibbeen p.600-601 & Al-Fawaa-id p.250) Ḥasan al-Baṣrī رحمه الله said: "The most clever amongst you is the one who remembers the day of Resurrection & the Judgment." 📖 [الزهد الكبير اللإمام البيهقي صحفة ٦٧]

Qur'an Khawanee: Reciting the Qur'an to Benefit the Deceased Some beneficial extracts from the excellent new book: The Legislative Position on Qur'aan Khawanee : Reciting the Qur'aan to Benefit the Deceased One By Shaykh Abu Muhammad Badee'ud-Deen Shaah ar-Raashidee as-Sindee Published by Troid On the authority of Abu Hurayrah who said, the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) said, "If a person dies, his actions cease except for three: A righteous child who makes du'aa for him, the continual charity that remains after he has died , and beneficial knowledge (that people from)." Saheeh Muslim ... "Imaam Ibnul Qayyim has also mentioned that which is similar to this: Many Prophets and pious people have died before the Messenger (peace be upon him) and many of his Companions (May Allah be pleased with them) died within his lifetime including Sa'd bin Mu'aadh (may Allah be pleased with him), regarding whom he (peace be upon him) said: 'The Arsh became happy by the death of Sa'd bin Mu'aadh' [Saheeh Bukhari] And many of his relatives and dear friends died in his presence. Some were even martyred, such as his uncle Hamza bin 'Abd al-Mutallib, his cousin, Ja'far bin Abee Taalib, brother through breast feeding 'Uthmaan bin Maz'oon and Ayman and Abu Salamah, and from his pure wives Khadeejah, Zaynab bint Khuzaymah, his mother in law Zaynab bint Maz'oon, mother of Hafsah bin Umar, his sons Qaasim, Tayyib and Ibraheem, his daughters Ruqaiyyah, Umm Qulthoom, Zaynab, his nephew 'Alee bin Zaynab, 'Abdullah bin Ruqaiyyah and Zaid bin Haaritha, whom he regarded as his son; all died while he was alive. Yet he did not recite the Qur'aan and send its reward for any of them. Similarly in many battles many of the Companions were martyred which included scholars, jurists, ascetics and worshippers but he did not recite the Qur'aan and send its reward for any one of them, nor did he indicate that it should be done." Kitaab ar-Rooh. ... "The pious predecessors were careful, as Haafidh Ibn Wadhaah al_Andaloosee said: "Asad narrated to us a Hadeeth from Rabee' bin Sabeeh who narrated on Yunus bin 'Ubayd, who said: Some people had gathered and Hassan(may Allah be pleased with him) came to them. One man said, 'O Abu Sa'eed, What do you say regarding this gathering of ours? We are a few people from Ahlus-Sunnah wal Jamaa'ah who do not criticize anyone, we gather one day in this house and another day in that house, we recite the book of Allaah, and we supplicate to our Lord, we send salawaat (praise and blessings) upon the Prophet (peace be upon him), we supplicate for ourselves and for the Muslims.' He said, 'Hassan forbade them from doing this with a severe forbiddance.'"" Kitaab al-Bid'a wa an-Nahee anhaa ... End of Extracts https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/icdbd/qjrHDqJC82c/w-y4w8pgHU4J

*Qur’ānic Reflections* *Enjoining The Good and Forbidding The Evil* Shaykh ‘Abdul-‘Azeez ar-Rājihi, [may Allāh preserve him], said: “Enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong is a noble hallmark of the believers and a defining trait among their virtuous qualities. This noble practice stands as a call unto Allāh and an invitation to His religion. Indeed, Islām did not find its way to the farthest reaches of the East and West except through sincere da‘wah, through calling to it, clarifying its beauty, virtues, and noble manners, and by enjoining good and forbidding evil. Yet the one who undertakes this sacred duty, the caller to Allāh, the enjoiner of good, and the forbider of evil, will inevitably face hardship. He must, therefore, arm himself with patience in the face of harm, whether in word or deed, that may come from the people. Among the timeless words of wisdom imparted by Luqmān the Wise to his son, words which Allāh, the Most High, preserved in His Book, was the command to establish prayer, to enjoin good, to forbid evil, and to remain steadfast and patient through all affliction. Allah, the Exalted, says quoting Luqmān: ﴿ يَـٰبُنَىَّ أَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأْمُرْ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَٱنْهَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَصَابَكَ ۖ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ ٱلْأُمُورِ ﴾ ‘O’ my beloved son! Establish prayer, encourage what is good and forbid what is evil, and endure patiently whatever befalls you. Surely this is a resolve to aspire to.’” ______ Al-Eedāhu wat-Tabayeenu li-ba‘di Sifāt il-Mu’mineen | Shaykh ‘Abdul-‘Azeez ar-Rājihi, [may Allāh preserve him]. Translation: Authentic Quotes

Ibn al-Qayyim: “The land of nature is wide and accepts whatever is going to be planted in it. If you plant a tree of faith and piety, it will give the sweetness of the Hereafter and if you plant a tree of ignorance and desire, it will give bitter fruit.” [al-Fawā’id | Pg. 60]
