*Richmond burglaries* There has a concentration of burglary offences in the Kew and East Sheen areas over the last 4 weeks. In addition to existing crime prevention advice, we have been holding meetings with crime prevention officers regarding the emerging use of jamming equipment to disrupt wifi based security alarms. This is an issue both across London and nationally, and there is work currently underway across policing and the alarm industry to resolve this issue. The current advice we have received is that wherever possible, alarm stations should be linked physically via Ethernet cable to internet routers. Sensors, especially those on access points should also be physically hardwired into the alarm system to prevent attempts to disrupt the wireless signal between sensor and base alarm. The use of jamming equipment is a specialist technology, and its use has only been evidenced in a very limited number of offences, however its use appears to be increasing. Any further information we receive will be shared at the earliest opportunity.

Officers assisted in searching from two juveniles that had made off from police having been stopped riding a stolen motorbike. Both were arrested a short time later hiding in an alleyway having run from officers again. A good bit of teamwork with our South Richmond ward colleagues!

*Kew burglaries* Please be aware that there have been a small number of incidents in the area where suspects have posed as police officers to gain entry to properties - please follow the above advice, and if ever in doubt, call 999 or 101.

*Thefts from vehicles* Kew and East Sheen wards have seen a concentration of theft from motor vehicle offences over the last 4 weeks - please ensure that you do not leave property on display, even for short periods of time. https://www.met.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/keeping-vehicles-safe/

There has been a recent rise in the theft of VW badges and sensors. Please be aware of where you are parking your vehicle and report any suspicious behaviour.
