میں نے چاند اور ستاروں کی تمنا کی تھی مجھ کو راتوں کی سیاہی کے سوا کچھ نہ ملا میں وہ نغمہ ہوں جسے پیار کی محفل نہ ملی وہ مسافر ہوں جسے کوئی بھی منزل نہ ملی زخم پائے ہیں بہاروں کی تمنا کی تھی میں نے چاند اور ستاروں کی تمنا کی تھی کسی گیسو کسی آنچل کا سہارا بھی نہیں راستے میں کوئی دھندلا سا ستارہ بھی نہیں میری نظروں نے نظاروں کی تمنا کی تھی میں نے چاند اور ستاروں کی تمنا کی تھی دل میں ناکام امیدوں کے بسیرے پائے روشنی لینے کو نکلا تو اندھیرے پائے رنگ اور نور کے دھاروں کی تمنا کی تھی میں نے چاند اور ستاروں کی تمنا کی تھی میری راہوں سے جدا ہو گئیں راہیں ان کی آج بدلی نظر آتی ہیں نگاہیں ان کی جن سے اس دل نے سہاروں کی تمنا کی تھی میں نے چاند اور ستاروں کی تمنا کی تھی پیار مانگا تو سسکتے ہوئے ارمان ملے چین چاہا تو امڈتے ہوئے طوفان ملے ڈوبتے دل نے کناروں کی تمنا کی تھی میں نے چاند اور ستاروں کی تمنا کی تھی (ساحر لدھیانوی)
