Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution applaudes His Excellency for the VBU intiative

OK Zimbabwe has made some significant changes in its leadership amid poor management issues. The retailer has let go of some senior executives and has brought back two experienced leaders to help turn things around. Retired leader Willard Zireva, who led the company from 1990 to 2017, and former CEO Alex Siyavora have been recalled to steer the company through a critical business overhaul. Zireva had taken early retirement in 2017, while Siyavora had left the company in 2021 after serving as CEO since 2017. Their return is expected to bring stability and direction to the struggling retailer.

Today His Excellency President E D Mnangagwa officiated at the 2025 Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Recruit Graduation Ceremony, at Mkushi Police Academy, where 907 recruits graduated. The ceremony, marked a significant milestone in the transformation of the police force, with a focus on modern policing techniques and community engagement. President Mnangagwa highlighted the importance of the academy’s rebranding from Morris Depot to Mkushi Police Academy in 2023, a move aimed at honouring the sacrifices of Zimbabwe’s liberation heroes, particularly the gallant women who perished at the ZIPRA Mkushi Girls’ Camp in Zambia in 1978. The graduating class, comprised of 624 male and 283 female recruits from all 10 provinces, who underwent a rigorous two-year Diploma programme which included contemporary policing courses such as Criminal Law, Human Rights and Policing, Public Order Management, and Information Communication and Technology (ICT). *#mugutiLorraine MasvingoInfoDesk* https://x.com/mugutiLorraine/status/1895132635023704316?t=zIys5QJLg2p_gzMn4GOgEA&s=08
