Hope you had a great weekend running. This past weekend a lot of us suffered in the heat and did not make our goal times. Want to better your time and seeding for Two Oceans or Comrades? Why don't you come to the Vaal? We cannot promise you cooler weather but a fast and flat route our marathon definitely is. GREAT NEWS. Gerda Steyn has entered the Cape Gate Vaal Marathon again. We are greatful and honored to have the ever smiling and friendly Gerda with us. We must be doing something right in the Vaal! A race for runners by runners. Come and run with Gerda and bring the family with. She is bringing her parents as well. Challenge your family to walk or run the 10km or 5km Fun Run. Just for fun and bragging rights afterwards. The Postnet option has closed with entries. Postnet entries are to be packed and shipped this week. Keep those tekkies pounding the streets. Remember your goals and go for it. Have a great week.

Hallo good runners. The Postnet entries have been dispatched. You should receive notification soon. Entries have been capped for number printing and procurement of runners refreshments. Entries have sold well the last 3 days and is fast approaching the capped targets. Dont delay and be disappointed. Enter quickly please. There is no "spare" entries at the collection points or on race day. Only 5km Fun Run entries will be sold at the collection points and on race morning. Visit the website for all your questions. Hallo fellow runners. Quick newsflash. The 500 entries on the 10km is sold out!! Only 150 entries is still available for both the 21km and 42km races respectively. Online entries only available through Peak Timing. 5km Fun Run entries will be sold at collection points and on the morning of the race. May you have a great week. Be safe. It is time to do the mental preparation for Sunday's race. Go for it!

Hallo again. We are sold out. The only way in now is for you to find a substitute runner. If you do... email [email protected] for instructions how to proceed with the substitution. There is a R50 admin fee payable before it will be done. Your race number and final information has been emailed to each runner today. You need to show us your race number upon collection. Please read the email properly as it contains important safety information and rules that should be adhered too. For all race information please consult the website. Thank you. Tomorrow is race day!! I hope that every runner will achieve their goal. I know you can. Vasbyt! Arrive early to be relaxed before the start. For the 42km and 21km race it is mat to mat timing. You have till 6:10 to cross the start mat. The 10km and 5km starts at 6:15 and is gun to mat. No timekeeping on the 5km Fun Run. Entries for the 5km can still be bought before the race. Bring the family. Weather prediction is for a delightful sunny day with some clouds. Be safe and adhere to marshall instructions. Please. NO earbuds or headphones are allowed. Referees will disqualify you as it is in breach of a running law. Runners... time to do it. Enjoy.
