*8 Fully Funded PhD in Italy* 🇮🇹 IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca is looking for bright students from all over the world to recruit through highly competitive and transparent procedures. English is the official language of the school, and for the year 2024 IMT offers 34 fully funded full-time positions consisting of a 3-year studentship of 16.243 euros per year (tax free, social security withholding), free housing in the School’s accessible campus in the historical town of Lucca, free access to the canteen, library and other campus facilities, additional funds for research and international mobility. 𝘠𝘦𝘵, 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘫𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘹𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘭 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴 𝘢 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘦—existing surveys (e.g., the National Travel Survey and International Passenger Survey) don’t fully capture both infrequent long-distance and daily/weekly travel patterns. This 𝐄𝐏𝐒𝐑𝐂 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐡𝐃 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 will bridge that gap by applying advanced statistical/data science techniques to fuse multiple datasets at a household level, enabling a deeper analysis of long-distance travel behaviours, emissions, and decarbonisation potential.
