*Heaps of half-term fun* Whether it’s playing around in the splash pool at Vicky Park, getting creative with bunting making, or taking part in sports activities, there are loads of free fun activities for children and families during the half term holidays from 26 to 30 May. *Whitechapel Station lift update* From Monday 26 May until Sunday 8 June, the lift at Whitechapel station between the ticket hall and the lower concourse level, which leads to the lifts for the Elizabeth line, will be out of service for planned maintenance work. For step-free access to the Elizabeth line platforms when entering the station: • Take lift C from the ticket hall to the northbound Windrush line platform • Then, take lift E further along the platform to the Lower Concourse level • From there, use lift F or H as normal to the Elizabeth line For a step-free exit from the station from the Elizabeth line: • Take lift F or H to the southbound Windrush line platform • Then, take lift G to the District and Hammersmith & City line platforms • From there, use lift C or D to the ticket hall For step-free access to the southbound Windrush line: • Take lift C or D in the ticket hall to the District and Hammersmith & City line platforms • Then, take lift G at the end of the platforms


*PSA: Bus service improvements are coming to Tower Hamlets!* 🌙 Night Bus N25 (Oxford Circus to Ilford) • Started Saturday, May 24 • Buses will run every 10 minutes on Friday and Saturday nights (improved from every 12 minutes) • Regular service remains every 8 minutes Sunday to Thursday 🚌 Route 106 (Finsbury Park bus station to Whitechapel) • Starting Saturday, June 7 • Early Sunday service improved: buses every 20 minutes before 6:30am (previously every 30 minutes)


*Free health checks* 🩺 In partnership with Tower Hamlets GP Care Group, the council is offering free health checks to support the wellbeing of our local communities. The quick and friendly 15-minute health check helps individuals understand their health and take steps to reduce the risk of conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes. These checks are delivered by trained healthcare assistants and provide tailored health signposting and support. *Find out more about volunteering opportunities* Volunteer Centre Tower Hamlets and Workpath are celebrating national Volunteers’ Week with the Tower Hamlets Volunteering Fair. Come to the Town Hall on Tuesday 3 June and speak with more than 25 charities recruiting volunteers for a wide variety of roles. Find the perfect volunteer role that matches your interests and availability. The fair is open to anyone aged 16+ who lives, works or studies in Tower Hamlets. There will be roles for all levels of experience (or none). There are three sessions – 10.45am to 11.30am for people who are neurodivergent, have a learning disability or an Autism Spectrum diagnosis, and 11.30am to 1pm and 1pm to 2.30pm which are open to all. *Free fun at In the Neighbourhood* Enjoy live bands, DJ’s, entertainment, family theatre, a seniors’ tea dance, sport activities, street food, bars, and much more at the June edition of In the Neighbourhood. The free entry community festival offers four days of free events running from Monday 9 to Thursday 12 June at LIDO Festival in Victoria Park. *Striving to create a fairer place for women to thrive* More than 250 women from all walks of life came together at the Tower Hamlets Women’s Awards to uplift, celebrate and recognise the contribution women make in society. The council has also established a Women’s Commission to confront the challenges women face in society and will be holding a series of engagement sessions over the summer.
