Prayer for Peace in the World In light of escalating tensions between Israel and Iran “He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.” – Psalm 46:9 (KJV)* “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.” – Matthew 5:9 (KJV) Heavenly Father, We come before You today as wars and rumours of wars shake the nations. Our hearts grieve at the rising violence between Israel and Iran, and the growing threat to innocent lives and global peace. Lord, You are the Prince of Peace—stretch forth Your hand and calm the raging storm. Break the bow, silence the weapons, and cause the fighting to cease. We ask that You touch the hearts of world leaders with divine wisdom. Let pride and vengeance give way to understanding and diplomacy. Raise peacemakers in every land, and may the voice of reconciliation be louder than the drums of war. Protect the innocent, comfort the fearful, and bring healing to those wounded in body and spirit. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen. MSStephens

Number 32 Topic: Haste Makes Waste By M. S. Stephens Text: Proverbs 19:2 (KJV) — "Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth." Introduction The phrase “Haste makes waste” is a timeless proverb that cautions us against rushing into decisions or actions without proper thought and preparation. While it is often used in everyday wisdom, the principle is deeply rooted in Scripture. In our fast-paced world today—where people desire quick fixes, instant success, and hurried results—this truth is more relevant than ever, especially in our Christian walk. The Bible does not frown upon diligence or promptness, but it warns repeatedly against impulsive decisions and reckless speed. Many have ruined opportunities, relationships, ministries, and even their faith by acting hastily without seeking God’s guidance. In this message, we will explore how haste can lead to spiritual waste, worldly regret, and divine displeasure. We will also examine the godly approach to making wise, prayerful, and purposeful decisions. Main Text Analysis: Proverbs 19:2 "Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth." This Scripture combines two truths: 1. Acting without knowledge is dangerous. 2. Rushing without wisdom is sinful. The verse underlines that haste is often driven by ignorance or pride, and it often leads to sin. When we act in haste, we leave no room for discernment, and this opens the door for regret and wasted effort. Biblical Examples of Hasty Actions and Their Consequences 1. Saul’s Impatience (1 Samuel 13:8–14) King Saul lost his dynasty because he offered a sacrifice in Samuel’s absence out of fear and haste. He couldn’t wait for God’s timing and acted outside his spiritual authority. 2. Moses Striking the Rock (Numbers 20:7–12) Moses, in anger and frustration, struck the rock instead of speaking to it as God instructed. That hasty act cost him the privilege of entering the Promised Land. 3. The Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11–13) The younger son demanded his inheritance prematurely and squandered it. His haste led to waste—both of resources and dignity. 4. Peter's Impulsiveness (John 18:10–11) In haste, Peter drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest. Jesus rebuked him, showing that zeal without wisdom can misrepresent God’s will. Biblical Concepts Associated with Haste 1. Patience and Waiting on God (Isaiah 40:31, Psalm 27:14) God honours those who wait on Him. Patience builds trust and maturity. 2. Seeking Counsel (Proverbs 15:22) Haste often ignores wise counsel. God expects us to seek advice and direction before making decisions. 3. Walking in the Spirit (Galatians 5:25) The Spirit-led life is not rushed. It is marked by sensitivity to God’s timing and direction. 4. Faith Over Anxiety (Philippians 4:6–7) Many hasty actions are anxiety-driven. Faith waits in prayer, not panic. Application and Implications In Career and Business: Rushed investments or business partnerships without proper diligence often lead to loss. In Relationships: Jumping into friendships, marriages, or partnerships without prayer can bring emotional or spiritual harm. In Ministry: Seeking positions, titles, or platforms before spiritual readiness can lead to pride and failure. In Daily Living: Making decisions—big or small—without reflection or prayer can lead to avoidable consequences. Lessons to Learn 1. God has a set time for everything (Ecclesiastes 3:1). 2. Waiting is not wasting time—it is preparing time. 3. Haste is often driven by fear, pride, or pressure. 4. Wasted efforts can be avoided by seeking God's will. 5. There is beauty in walking in step with God, not ahead of Him. Call to Action Dear brethren, let us examine our lives today. Are there areas where we’ve been rushing ahead of God? Are there decisions we’re making under pressure? Let us repent of hasty choices and seek God's wisdom. Trust in the Lord’s timing and walk according to His plan, for only then will we truly avoid waste and experience divine success. Conclusion The Christian life is a race—but not a sprint. It is a marathon of faith, guided by the Spirit, built on wisdom, and anchored in trust. Let us not run ahead of God, but let us walk with Him daily. Remember: haste makes waste, but faith makes wise. Suggested Baptist Hymn BH 528 – "Take Time to Be Holy" This hymn reminds us of the importance of spiritual discipline, patience, and daily communion with God. Closing Prayer Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your word that teaches us to wait on You and walk in Your wisdom. Forgive us for the times we’ve acted in haste and missed Your direction. Grant us the grace to be patient, discerning, and obedient. Help us to trust Your timing in all things. Let Your Spirit guide us daily so that our lives may bring You glory and not regret. May we never waste opportunities, time, or resources through impulsive actions. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen. Take Home Questions 1. Can you identify a time in your life when haste led to an avoidable mistake? 2. What practical steps can you take to ensure you seek God's guidance before making decisions? 3. How can patience help you grow in your Christian walk? 4. What role does wise counsel play in avoiding hasty actions? 5. How can you develop the discipline of waiting on God without anxiety?

*Special Edition for Father's Day* Topic: "Responsible Men" Theme: Godly Responsibility in the Life of a Man By M. S. Stephens Text: Ezekiel 22:30 – “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” INTRODUCTION Responsibility is the heartbeat of manhood. In today’s society, there is a growing crisis not of masculinity, but of responsible men—men who understand their divine calling, embrace leadership in love, and stand firm in righteousness. From the family to the church and the society at large, the need for men who will stand in the gap is as urgent today as it was in the days of Ezekiel. God has always looked for men who would take up spiritual, moral, social, and emotional responsibility. In Ezekiel 22:30, God lamented that He could not find such a man. What a tragedy! In a generation filled with men, He found none willing to stand in the gap. This message challenges every male believer to rise to the call of responsibility in every sphere of life. BASICS OF THE MESSAGE 1. Responsible Men are Accountable to God - Genesis 3:9 – “And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?” - God holds men accountable for leadership in the home, society, and His church. 2. Responsible Men Embrace Leadership with Servanthood - 1 Corinthians 11:3 – “But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man…” - Headship is not tyranny—it is sacrificial leadership after Christ’s pattern. 3. Responsible Men Provide and Protect - 1 Timothy 5:8 – “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house…” - Responsibility includes provision (physical, spiritual, emotional) and protection. 4. Responsible Men Influence and Intercede. - Job 1:5 - Job rose early to intercede for his children. - Ezekiel 22:30 – God sought an intercessor to avert judgment. CHALLENGES TO RESPONSIBLE MANHOOD 1. Cultural Confusion – Society redefines manhood, promoting selfishness and indifference. 2. Spiritual Laziness – Many men neglect spiritual disciplines like prayer and Scripture reading. 3. Broken Homes & Absentee Fathers – Many lack models of responsible manhood. 4. Fear of Commitment – Avoiding leadership roles, accountability, and long-term responsibilities. BIBLICAL CONCEPTS ASSOCIATED WITH RESPONSIBILITY Stewardship (Luke 12:48b) – “…to whom much is given, of him shall be much required.” Servant Leadership (Mark 10:45) – “For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister…” Fatherhood & Priesthood (Joshua 24:15) – “…as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Faithfulness (1 Corinthians 4:2) – “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” APPLICATION As husbands: Be sacrificial in love and consistent in leadership (Ephesians 5:25). As fathers: Train up your children in the fear of God (Proverbs 22:6). As leaders in church and society: Uphold truth, show integrity, serve with humility (Micah 6:8). As young men: Develop character and discipline early (1 Timothy 4:12). IMPLICATIONS AND LESSONS TO LEARN 1. A generation can be lost when men abandon their responsibilities. 2. The spiritual health of homes and churches often rises or falls with the quality of male leadership. 3. God still seeks responsible men—He has not lowered His standard. 4. Every man is either standing in the gap or allowing the hedge to be broken. 5. True manhood is measured not by dominance, but by devotion and duty. CALL TO ACTION God is still asking today, “Where is the man who will stand in the gap?” Will you answer that call? Let every man reflect: Am I being responsible where God has placed me? Let us repent where we have failed and arise with strength and grace to lead, love, and serve as God intends. CONCLUSION "Responsible Men" are the backbone of godly homes, vibrant churches, and thriving societies. In a world suffering from absenteeism and irresponsibility, may we be the men God is searching for—faithful in little, valiant in battle, and humble in leadership. May our generation not echo the lament of Ezekiel 22:30, but instead resound with the victory of men who stood in the gap. MATCHING BAPTIST HYMN BH 506 – “Rise Up, O Men of God” Verse 1: Rise up, O men of God! Have done with lesser things, Give heart and soul and mind and strength To serve the King of kings. CLOSING PRAYER Heavenly Father, We thank You for this word today. We repent of every form of irresponsibility and negligence. Raise up in this generation, men who will stand in the gap—men who will love as Christ loved, lead as Christ led, and live as Christ lived. Empower every man here today to embrace Your calling with humility and faithfulness. May our homes, churches, and nations feel the impact of responsible men who fear You and walk in Your ways. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen. 5 TAKE-HOME QUESTIONS 1. What areas of responsibility has God placed in your hands today, and how are you managing them? 2.
