For anyone who’s started interacting with Wisdom, one concept they must understand, and that very early, is the concept of actions and consequences, like the newton’s third law of motion which states that "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." Though we know that this law speaks primarily to the relationship between two objects interacting with one another, yet it holds true even to universal law and order governing human behavior. When a man does something to someone or an entity especially such as is well established by an existing law as unethical, then there’s surely a penalty to that. Therefore, for the law to take its course, the person must take to bare consequences. While it is good and noble to forewarn people not to fall guilty of any such act of offenses and to instruct them to desist from evil; if they yet willfully or premeditatedly engage in such actions, it is meet to let them dance to the music their actions called on. If for favoritism or sentimental reasons, you help them evade bearing the responsibility, then you have thought them that they can always get away with evil and that you must be willing to keep doing all the days of your/their life. Haughtiness and arrogance never yields any profitable results rather it’s always otherwise. And the trick of satan on this path is very cunning. He makes the heart of such a man as is under his attack so pompous that, receiving counsel of any kind becomes impossible. And by that intentional flouting of everything that sounds like wisdom then is the doorway that leads to destruction opened. on the other hand, humility begets honour. Now, here’s Wisdom’s candid message to you. Whenever you’re caught up in a state of loftiness of heart, when arrogance lurks within your bowels and seem like the only way, consciously take your time and retrospectively consider your paths. Pray fervently for guidance and seek counsel from others. As part of our conversation from yesterday, today’s Dose seeks to elucidate the aftermath effects of poor resources management. Besides that it is not a wise choice and that it leaves one in a state near destitution, it also has the ability to bring a man into subjection to the rule of his equals. As though a continuation of a buttression of yesterday’s lesson; when you don’t do the needful with your resources in order to have a fattened savings; you may as well fall to the state of borrowing from others and by so doing offer yourself their servants. Be diligent and manage your treasures wisely. Happy International Boy Child’s Day. One age long paradox that hold an enormous significance reads “The boy is the father of the man.” Today we see the wise king Solomon bearing witness of the fact that despite his many achievements, age, wisdom, possessions and power, there was yet a time when he was but a little boy, when he was only tender and delicately beloved of his mother. So also it is for you dear son, you may be young today and thus very little or no responsibilities is layed on you, but it is superlatively expedient for you to know that the man of tomorrow will be birthed (speaking figuratively) by this little boy you are today. For this cause, seeing the high demands the world lay upon you as a man, it is again important that you invest heavily in this growing stage of yours. And unto you grownups of both genders alike, it is important and I charge you by this message, to also pay keen attention to the growth process of the boy child. Nurture and pour into him all wisdom and stature as will be required of him to be a man, a husband, a father, and leader. “Spend am; another one go come!” these are words that can proceed only from the mount of a foolish man. Oh! he maybe not necessarily be a total fool in all areas, but in the matter of management, anyone that makes such statements or have such mindset, especially in an extreme form, is not so wise. The scripture here is describing two kinds of people by their lot, he calls one Wise and the other foolish. What qualifies the one as wise in this sense is the fact that he has a lot of desirable treasures and oil in his store. When we inverse that, it means what guarantees him to have so much of such treasures is his wisdom and this is reflected in his ability to spend wisely and have a fattened store of savings. As for the other which is tagged foolish, it wasn’t even needful to mention the state of his store but all that was mentioned is that he spends up everything he gets. If you’re still asking whether or not there is anything valuable in his store then you’re looking for trouble. Oga! They said he spends it all up. The lesson to learn from this Dose is to prioritize saving. eating up all your earnings will leave you needy any moment anything unforeseen comes at you. And you will be found begging, which is not a very noble state be in. But if you are disciplined enough to spend and save; you’ll have abundance of possession to tackle everything that comes your way and even spare to those in need. Scripture was saying somewhere in Ehp. 2:10 that there’s a work that has been foreordained for each one of us should walk in. In giving a little more illustration to that; the life of man and his earthly pilgrimage can be likened to a pilot who flies an aircraft. Even though he’s in charge of implementing commands that’ll control the behavior of the craft, it’s still not totally in him to determine certain decisions. He must have need to follow the instructions from the control room, he must endeavor to keep in touch with the control room otherwise something disastrous will likely befall the flight. Oh; is it not true that many inventions and technological advancements are only imitations of the technology of a realm which we cannot see now? Does these innovations not have beautiful ways of confirming and giving apt explanations to the word of God and to how He’s commanded nature!? Let’s compare this idea with another concept in our contemporary world. It is like a man traveling to a place he has never been before. He have no clue how to navigate his way through. Then GPS comes to his aid, he imput the details of his destination and then takes off following the prompt from his gadget. If by any means he goes contrary to the command from his path-finder, he’s definitely going to get missing. Or if at any point he losses connection, it’ll be better to stop and restore his connection than to proceed aimlessly. This exactly is the case of every man. It is not in him to determine his steps not even a strong man nor the man at his best abilities can truly determine his step. It is therefore important that you always be in touch with the one who has made you unto good works foreordained for you to walk in; who knows the way and who is himself the way. In today’s scriptural text, Wisdom is using a figure of speech we can identify as metonymy; by representing different kinds of men by something closely associated with them. When she says ‘‘Excellent speech does not become…” the actual meaning is to say; a man who is excellent in speech. Basically the information to work with here is well established; stating that one who speaks excellently cannot become a fool and in like wise, one with a lying lip cannot become a ruler. For a man to be spoken of or for his name to be —as though a synonym with— used interchangeably with excellent speech, it mean he must have taught himself through thorough discipline to sneak fitly in every situation and of such a man, you can refer to him as anything in this world but not a fool. As for the other side, it’s more like a warning to desist from lying, drawing allegory from excellent speech never becoming a fool, you should also know that telling lies will set you quantum lengths away from becoming a prince or a reputable noble. This Proverb from which today’s Dose was concocted is serving as a testament that many things we see today have been so for ages. How lamentably it is that there be many folks who find joy in folly and takes pride in shameful things. Scripture here describes them as lacking sense. As for the man with much understanding and prudence, he is upright in his ways and goes on the way of discretion. Not to worry too hard about the prompt or applicability of this message; it’s a call to refrain from glorifying that which is ignoble and embracing such as is commendable and worthy of good report. For rejoicing in evil will only label anyone a fool.
