It is expected of every rational person to possess a certain degree of self control even in the face of offence and provocation. If this is true for every average man, it therefore means that the bar is raised for him that identifies as Wise or prudent. On the other hand the one who holds no resistance to blurting out and foaming up at the slightest provocation is not wise. In his impulsive reaction he says things he’ll later wish he never said and does things he’ll later regret doing. This is because he act and speaks before thinking. Please what, besides this, is the definition of foolishness!? Also, anyone who has been found and proven overtime to be full of evil crafts and wicked scheme will be hated and despised. Wise one, it is therefore meet that you put your impulses under control and develop a rigid mechanism to contain your own anger, for anger lodges in the bosom of fools. (see Eccl. 7:9). It is also august prudence to desist from evil schemings. For both the people and the Lord hates such.
