Planting trees MUST be in the Diocese. Ven.Elly Wasswa(Gayaza Archdeacon ) has been tasked to oversee the program of planting trees in Namirembe Diocese especially in church land. He requested all to plant trees so that encroachers are scared away. Bishops house ground breaking on 10th Aug. The long awaited for the renovation of Bishop residence will commence on 10th August with the ground breaking. This was revealed by the chairman steering committee for the construction of the Bishop house Ssalongo Stanley Kalyango. Chairman Kalyango thanked Bishop Banja for entrusting him with the work and thanked all who have done great work to see that the new residence start and end at an agreed time. So far so good that all Archdeaconries and Deanery have assured by end of May all contributions will be handed over to the committee so that the work is finished at an agreed time.
Bishop Banja crown Bishop Luwalira title Bishop Emeritus. The 6th Bishop of Namirembe Diocese The Rt Rev.Moses Banja has thanked and given the 5th Bishop now retired Rt. Rev. Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira the Title of Bishop Emeritus for the work done in the Diocese for 14 years as the bishop. He did a lot and brought the Diocese and the cathedral as well to its lost glory now. He disclosed this in the Diocesan council that is sitting today Friday 23rd May in Bishop Dunstan Nsubuga hall.
