📜❃ *Ḥadīth* ❃ Abū Hurayrah, may Allāh be pleased with him narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: *« _Do not fast a day or two days just before the fast of Ramaḍan. 📜❃ *Ḥadīth* ❃ Abū Hurayrah, may Allāh be pleased with him narrated that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: « _*The month of Ramaḍan has come to you* - a blessed month. Allāh has obligated its fasting upon you, during it the gates of heavens are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, the most rebellious devils are chained. In it, Allāh has a night that is better than a thousand months. Wahb b. Jābir al-Khaywānī reported: One day I saw ʿAbd Allah b. ʿAmr (b. al-ʿĀṣ) in Bayt al-Maqdis (ie: Masjid al-Aqṣá, Jerusalem), أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحَافِظُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ فَارِسٍ، نا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، نا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، نا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ وَهْبَ بْنَ جَابِرٍ الْخَيْوَانِيَّ، يَقُولُ: شَهِدْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو فِي بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ، And a (freed slave) came to him, وَأَتَاهُ مَوْلًى لَهُ، So he said: “I wish to stay here in this masjid this month (of) Ramaḍān.” فَقَالَ: إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُقِيمَ هَذَا الشَّهْرَ هَهُنَا - يَعْنِي رَمَضَانَ - ʿAbd Allah asked him: “Have you left any food for your family?” قَالَ لَهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ: هَلْ تَرَكْتَ لِأَهْلِكَ مَا يَقُوتُهُمْ؟ He said no: “No.” قَالَ: لَا، (ʿAbd Allah) said: No (do not do this), go back to your family and at least give them something (to survive for food while you devote yourself here for ʿibādah).
