Electronic waste *threatens public health* ⚕️ as well as *the environment,* 🌱 but a Rotary program in Taiwan has an answer. “Don’t forget to take your own *water and snacks,”* Pietro Uzochukwu Macleo told the 131 Rotary members who volunteered to *monitor* the Nigerian 🇳🇬 elections in 2023. Nigeria is Africa’s *largest democracy* 👍 and one of its biggest economies, but it has a history of election violence. “The people are *crying out to say, ‘We need help, we need support,’”* says Stuart Raymond Kasule. About twice a year, the Rotarian travels from his adopted home of Australia 🇦🇺 to his Ugandan homeland 🇺🇬 to share his training on *mental well-being and suicide prevention.* Kasule works with a counseling organization in Canberra.
