*Polio Eradication Efforts Reviewed: Chief Secretary Calls for Improved Access, Accountability and Community Engagement* The Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah, chaired a post-campaign review meeting of the April Anti Polio (NID) campaign. The meeting was attended by Coordinator Provincial EOC, Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, District Health Officers and other relevant officials. During the meeting, a detailed presentation was given based on analytical figures and data. The Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of using lessons learned from the April campaign to improve the upcoming May campaign. He stressed the need for micro-plans, community engagement, and thorough pre-campaign preparations. The Chief Secretary linked performance evaluation of officers to polio eradication efforts, emphasizing accountability to enhance campaign quality. The meeting noted a decrease in missed children and an increase in households and Union Councils (UCs) covered compared to the February 2025 campaign. Priority UCs reduced from 276 in February 2025 to 166 in April 2025, showing progress in vaccination efforts. The Chief Secretary emphasized the need to further improve access to communities and prioritize routine immunization. He also highlighted the importance of quality in anti-polio campaigns and directed special focus on areas where the virus is circulating. A plan was presented to bridge gaps in campaign quality by improving access, strengthening oversight, and training staff. The government remains committed to eradicating polio with community support, and influencer-led models are being implemented in various areas. Notably, a 100% house-to-house campaign was conducted in Upper South Waziristan after a gap of two years.

*CS Shahab Ali Shah Chairs First Meeting of Governance Roadmap* Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governance Roadmap’s first meeting held here on Wednesday, with Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah in the chair. In the first meeting roadmap for Health and Industry Departments were reviewed in detail. For the Health Department, the roadmap outlines a strategic focus on strengthening primary healthcare to improve community well-being, modernizing secondary healthcare hospitals to enhance emergency and specialized care, and boosting human resource capacity to ensure quality services. Emphasis has also been placed on the digitization of health services to improve accessibility, along with institutional strengthening through comprehensive policy reforms. The roadmap for the Industries Department targets the digitization of economic zones for better management, addressing structural bottlenecks to fast-track development, and promoting small industries to encourage entrepreneurship. It also includes measures to ease business regulations to attract investment and aims to strengthen TEVTA (Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority) for greater employability of the workforce. Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah underscored the importance of departmental ownership and accountability, directing that progress be closely monitored through defined timelines. He called for sensitizing operational staff to align their efforts with the roadmap’s objectives, stressing that its effective implementation would lead to impactful and measurable results within the next two years. The meeting, attended by departmental secretaries and senior officials, also reviewed the upcoming provincial budget and key departmental mandates. The Governance Roadmap is part of a larger, integrated strategy to align priorities across departments, enabling more coordinated and efficient execution of reforms. Chief Secretary expressed optimism that this unified approach would significantly improve governance, accelerate development, and enhance public service delivery across the province.

*چیف سیکرٹری خیبر پختونخوا شہاب علی شاہ کی زیرصدارت گورننس روڈ میپ کے تحت صحت و صنعت کے محکموں کا اجلاس* خیبر پختونخوا حکومت کے ''گورننس روڈ میپ'' کا جائزہ لینے کے لئے اجلاسوں کا سلسلہ شروع کر دیا گیا ہے اس سلسلے میں صحت اور صنعت کے محکموں سے متعلق دو علیحدہ علیحدہ اجلاسوں کا انعقاد ہوا جس کی صدارت چیف سیکر ٹری خیبر پختونخوا شہاب علی شاہ نے کی۔ اجلاس میں محکمہ صحت کے لیے تیار کردہ حکمت عملی پر غور خوص کیا گیا جس کا مقصد بنیادی طبی سہولیات کو مستحکم کرنا، ثانوی ہسپتالوں کو جدید خطوط پر استوار کرنا اور افرادی قوت کی استعداد کار میں اضافہ کرنا ہے تاکہ عوام کو ایمرجنسی اور مخصوص علاج کی بہتر سہولیات فراہم ہوں،اس کے ساتھ ساتھ صحت کے شعبے کو ڈیجیٹائزیشن اور پالیسی اصلاحات کے ذریعے مزید مستحکم کرنے کے اہداف کا بھی جائزہ لیا گیا۔ محکمہ صنعت کے روڈ میپ میں صنعتی زونز کی ڈیجیٹائزیشن، صنعتی بستیوں کے قیام میں رکاوٹوں کے خاتمے، مزید آسانیاں پیدا کرنے، کاروباری سرگرمیوں کے لئے چھوٹی صنعتوں کو فروغ دینے، اور تکنیکی تربیتی ادارے (ٹیوٹا) کی استعداد کو بڑھاتے ہوئے نوجوانوں کو روزگار کے مواقع فراہم کرنا جیسے اہداف کا جائزہ لیا گیا۔ چیف سیکرٹری شہاب علی شاہ نے اجلاس سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے متعلقہ محکموں پر زور دیا کہ وہ روڈ میپ اور ایکشن پلان کے تحت پیش رفت کو مقررہ مدت میں مکمل کرنے کے لیے مؤثر نگرانی یقینی بنائیں۔ انہوں نے ہدایت کی کہ فیلڈ اور آپریشنل سٹاف کو بھی ان اہداف سے آگاہ کیا جائے تاکہ ان کی بھرپور شمولیت سے مؤثر نتائج حاصل کئے جا سکیں۔اجلاس میں دونوں محکموں کے سیکرٹریز اور اعلیٰ حکام نے شرکت کی، جبکہ آئندہ مالی سال کے صوبائی بجٹ اور محکمانہ اہداف کا بھی جائزہ لیا گیا۔گورننس روڈ میپ ایک مربوط حکمت عملی کا حصہ ہے جس کے تحت تمام محکموں کی ترجیحات کو یکجا اور ہم آہنگ کر کے اصلاحات کے مؤثر نفاذ کو یقینی بنایا جائے گا۔ چیف سیکرٹری نے اس امید کا اظہار کیا کہ یہ جامع اور مربوط حکمت عملی صوبے میں گورننس کو بہتر بنانے، ترقی کو تیز کرنے اور عوامی خدمات کی فراہمی کو مزید مؤثر بنانے میں اہم کردار ادا کرے گی۔
