*CS Shahab Ali Shah Chairs First Meeting of Governance Roadmap* Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governance Roadmap’s first meeting held here on Wednesday, with Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah in the chair. In the first meeting roadmap for Health and Industry Departments were reviewed in detail. For the Health Department, the roadmap outlines a strategic focus on strengthening primary healthcare to improve community well-being, modernizing secondary healthcare hospitals to enhance emergency and specialized care, and boosting human resource capacity to ensure quality services. Emphasis has also been placed on the digitization of health services to improve accessibility, along with institutional strengthening through comprehensive policy reforms. The roadmap for the Industries Department targets the digitization of economic zones for better management, addressing structural bottlenecks to fast-track development, and promoting small industries to encourage entrepreneurship. It also includes measures to ease business regulations to attract investment and aims to strengthen TEVTA (Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority) for greater employability of the workforce. Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah underscored the importance of departmental ownership and accountability, directing that progress be closely monitored through defined timelines. He called for sensitizing operational staff to align their efforts with the roadmap’s objectives, stressing that its effective implementation would lead to impactful and measurable results within the next two years. The meeting, attended by departmental secretaries and senior officials, also reviewed the upcoming provincial budget and key departmental mandates. The Governance Roadmap is part of a larger, integrated strategy to align priorities across departments, enabling more coordinated and efficient execution of reforms. Chief Secretary expressed optimism that this unified approach would significantly improve governance, accelerate development, and enhance public service delivery across the province.
