Today we celebrate two European visionaries 🇪🇺   *Paul-Henri Spaak*, born on this day in 1899, was a founding figure of the European Union, as well as the Benelux Union, former Prime Minister of Belgium, and *a key architect of European integration*. He aimed to *further expand economic cooperation* on the continent. Spaak’s effort laid the groundwork for *unity and peace in Europe.*   *Louise Weiss*, born on this day in 1893, was a pioneering journalist, feminist, and a Member of the European Parliament. She gave the *inaugural speech at the Parliament’s first session* in 1979, calling on *all Europeans to unite through common culture.* Weiss *championed women’s rights and was a tireless advocate for European cooperation and democracy.*   Their names have been given to two of the European Parliament's buildings, both of which seat of a plenary chamber.   The significance of their efforts continues to inspire our shared vision of a united, democratic, and peaceful Europe.
