“_Hitler burned books, destroyed paintings, and murdered millions; but music is invincible._”
🎼 These were the words of *Corrie Hermann*, who paid tribute to her father, *Hungarian composer and cellist Pál Hermann*, during a *special commemoration event for Holocaust Remembrance Day* at the European Parliament. The ceremony included a musical performance featuring *Hermann’s original 18th century Gagliano cello.*
Murdered at the hands of the Nazis in 1944, the story of Pál Hermann, one of the finest cellists of his generation, lives on, as does his beloved cello, which was rediscovered 80 years later.
Today his daughter lives to share her father's story.
