⏰ It's 2025 and payments in euros are about to get faster.   *In the eurozone, your payment provider should now be able to handle receiving instant payments in euros.* And in October, they will be required to offer you an option of sending money instantly. All that at no extra cost!   Your experience with instant payments may differ depending on the provider you use and the country you live in. *The rules start applying from 2025 but in some cases from 2027.*   Here is a quick overview of what is changing thanks to the Instant Payment Regulation adopted by Parliament in 2024: * ✅  by 9 January payment providers (such as banks) based in EU countries that use the euro need to *provide a service of instantly receiving money* * ✅ by 9 October, the providers need to offer a service of *instantly sending money* * ✅ these services will come with *no additional charges* * ✅ *instant payment is an option* - providers that offer services of sending and receiving money will be required to also offer them in an instant * ⁠✅ payment providers will also have to ensure *a free check of the account details*, to avoid mistakes or fraud * ✅ if your service provider is *based outside the eurozone, they will be obligated to follow these regulations from 2027* or earlier if they already offer regular services of sending and receiving transfers in euros. _🔗 Read more: https://europa.eu/!KdqXWy_
