The leadership of the Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (GAMLS), the Medical Laboratory Professionals Workers Union (MELPWU), the West African Postgraduate College of Medical Laboratory Scientists (WAPCMLS), and the Society of Medical Laboratory Managers Ghana (SMLM-G) have taken a significant step in strengthening collaboration with the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
As part of this effort, the leadership of these laboratory organizations jointly paid a courtesy call on Prof. Kaba Akoriyea, the newly appointed Director-General of GHS, to congratulate him on his appointment and initiate discussions on fostering a lasting partnership that will enhance medical laboratory services and improve healthcare delivery in Ghana.
Leadership is optimistic that Prof. Kaba Akoriyea’s tenure as DG will bring positive impact, and we remain committed to engaging all stakeholders to advance the health needs of Ghanaians and the growth of medical laboratory services.
We reaffirm our commitment to promoting the interests of medical laboratory professionals and ensuring continuous improvements in laboratory practice in Ghana. This renewed collaboration with the Ghana Health Service is a positive step toward achieving our shared goals.
