Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC)Three-Day Awareness Camp in Turbat Against Extrajudicial Killings
Today, February 9, 2025, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has set up a three-day awareness camp in Turbat, Kech, to protest against the alarming rise in extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, and targeted assassinations across Balochistan.
In recent months, Balochistan has witnessed a disturbing escalation in state-sponsored violence. MPhil scholar Allah Dad was brutally assassinated in Turbat, followed by the targeted killings of Zakriya in Gwadar, Israr Rashid in Turbat, Ittefaq in Turbat, Naveed in Buleda, and Zareef in Tump. These killings, along with many more and the ongoing wave of enforced disappearances, point to a systematic campaign to silence Baloch voices and eliminate intellectuals, activists, and youth.
This bloodshed is not incidental—it reflects a continuation of the state's genocidal policies aimed at erasing Baloch's existence through targeted killings and enforced disappearances. As families mourn their loved ones, the perpetrators operate with impunity, emboldened by a system that thrives on repression.
The BYC’s awareness camp stands against the genocide of the Baloch people. It is a call for justice, an assertion that Baloch lives will not be erased without accountability. The first day of the camp has begun and will continue over the next two days, amplifying voices against state oppression.
