𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗵 The empty chair bearing her name is not just a tribute it is a powerful testament to resilience, defiance, and the enduring courage of those who rise against decades of oppression and tyranny. Even in forced absence, her presence was powerfully felt. Dr. Mahrang Baloch has emerged as a fearless voice for the Indigenous Baloch people, challenging systemic violence, enforced disappearances, and the militarisation of their homeland. Her commitment to justice and peace has become a symbol of hope for many and a threat to those who fear truth and accountability. Peaceful human rights defenders like Dr. Mahrang Baloch and other human rights defenders in Balochistan must be honoured for their bravery not punished, silenced, or imprisoned. BYC’s organizer Mahrang Baloch continued detention is not only a grave injustice, but a direct assault on freedom of expression and the universal right to dissent. We will keep resisting state violence. 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐥𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝, 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐦 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐡 𝐊𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞-𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐊𝐡𝐮𝐳𝐝𝐚𝐫 Koadsik, Khuzdar – June 3, 2025: Muslim, son of Akhtar and a resident of Koadsik in Khuzdar district, Balochistan, was shot and killed by members of a state-backed death squad, operating with the support of Pakistani security forces. According to local sources, operatives led by Samad Broth called Muslim out of his home late at night and opened fire, killing him on the spot. Muslim had previously been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces on October 10, 2024, and was released on December 3, 2024, following nearly two months in incommunicado detention. On June 3, 2025—six months after his release—he was targeted and killed. This case illustrates a deeply concerning pattern in Balochistan, where forcibly disappeared individuals are released only to be later killed by armed groups allegedly operating with state backing. The killing of Muslim adds to the climate of fear and systemic violence that continues to engulf Baloch lives. #StopBalochGenocide
