Three-Day Protest Camp in Turbat Against Extrajudicial Killings The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) organized a three-day protest camp in Turbat to denounce the ongoing extrajudicial killings in Balochistan, particularly the alarming rise in targeted assassinations in Kech. As the camp concluded today, yet another mutilated body was brought in—an appalling reminder of the brutality that persists. Last night, the tortured and lifeless body of Hayat Sabzal was discovered near Grade Station in Panjgur. He had been forcibly disappeared on July 3, 2024, by Pakistan’s secret agencies in the Meeri Bohag area of Turbat (Kech). His mutilated remains have now been brought to the BYC camp at Fida Chowk, further exposing the ongoing atrocities. In a separate incident, Sharif Zakir, a teacher at Model High School Turbat and Director of Sachan Grammar School, was targeted and attacked today. While he sustained injuries, he fortunately survived. This attack follows a disturbing pattern of harassment—his son, Kamil, and a family member, Ehsan, had previously forcibly disappeared, and his home was targeted in a grenade attack. The BYC remains steadfast in its peaceful struggle against extrajudicial killings, yet the bodies of our people continue to be discarded without accountability. The systematic targeting, enforced disappearances, and brutal murders of Baloch people must end. We urge the international community, human rights organizations, and civil society to break their silence and take immediate action against these injustices.
