⚠️Do not modify your Active Mobility Devices (AMDs) as they pose safety risks to yourself and others. In April 2024, two fire incidents were linked to non-compliant Power-Assisted Bicycles (PABs) fitted with higher-capacity batteries.🔋 Investigations revealed that owners of both PABs had either purchased the PAB or an additional PAB battery from Drive Bikes Singapore. Mr Prince Bryan Tan, Sales & Marketing Manager of Drive Bikes Singapore, will be charged in court tomorrow for: 1️⃣ Selling a non-compliant PAB under the Active Mobility Act 2017, and 2️⃣ Causing a PAB to be modified, rendering it non-compliant for use under the Traffic Act 1961. We take these offences seriously. Remember to only purchase and use devices and parts (including batteries) from original manufacturers or official retailers.
