#psa We’ve just launched a Request for Proposal (RFP) to seek industry’s proposals on piloting autonomous public bus services. This RFP will help us assess the technical feasibility and operational requirements for deploying autonomous buses at both individual service and fleet levels! 🚌 The pilot deployment will comprise 6️⃣ autonomous buses on service 400 at Marina Bay/Shenton Way, followed by service 191 at one-north. We are starting with these routes as they are shorter and simpler. #safetyfirst During the initial phase, the buses will operate with bus captains onboard as safety operators. ⛑ Thereafter, a remote safety operator can take over the supervisory role. The RFP is expected to close in Q2 2025 and awarded by end 2025. From mid-2026, the autonomous buses will operate alongside our existing manned bus services for an initial period of 3 years.
