𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 A home, a sense of security, time to bond, and a supportive community—these are not luxuries; they are necessities for a thriving family and society. As a father, I know the joys and challenges of raising children firsthand. And as an MP, I hear from many young families in Yio Chu Kang who are struggling with rising housing costs, work-life balance, and caregiving responsibilities. If we want Singapore to be a place where families can truly flourish, we need policies that keep up with the evolving needs of our people. That’s why I spoke in Parliament to push for solutions that matter. I called for indexing housing grants to market prices, reducing BTO wait times, and expanding rental options to help young couples secure homes sooner. I also advocated for stronger work-life balance policies—because parents shouldn’t have to choose between career success and quality time with their children. And to rebuild the "village" of support, I urged for better respite care, training for informal caregivers, and intergenerational mentorship. Families should never feel like they’re alone in this journey. Building a Singapore Made for Families isn’t just about government policies—it’s about all of us coming together. I will continue to champion these critical issues, ensuring that Yio Chu Kang residents and all Singaporeans have the support they need to raise strong, happy families.
