Homemade pizza recipe Ingredients For the Dough - 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet) - 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F or 45°C) - 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour - 2 tablespoons oil - 2 teaspoons sugar - 1 teaspoon salt For the Sauce - 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce - 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste - 2 teaspoons dried oregano - 1 teaspoon garlic powder - 1 teaspoon onion powder - 1 teaspoon sugar - 1/2 teaspoon salt - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper For the Toppings - 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese -shredded chicken ( cooked) - Your favorite toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, olives, etc.) Instructions In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
