*Press Release* *Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Chairs Meeting on Anti-Encroachment Drive* Hyderabad, February 11, 2025 – On the directives of *Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, and Chief Secretary Sindh, Syed Asif Haider Shah, Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad, Mr. Zain-ul-Abedin Memon*, chaired an important meeting regarding the Anti-Encroachment Drive in District Hyderabad. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner instructed all officials to maintain close coordination and ensure the removal of encroachments as per government directives. He emphasized that in the first phase of the operation, the following roads will be cleared: 1. Jamshoro Road 2. Wadhu Wah Road 3. Latifabad Unit 8 & 9 4. Station Road to Makki Shah Road 5. St. Mary’s Station Road to Makki Shah Road 6. Risala Road 7. Qasim Chowk to Citizen Colony Road 8. Citizen Colony Road 9. Naseem Nagar Road DC Hyderabad urged the civil society, business community, and the general public to cooperate with the administration in this initiative. He further warned that legal action would be taken against individuals involved in encroachments. The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioner Hyderabad, Mr. Zahoor Lakhan; SP Traffic; Secretary RTA, Mr. Saleem Memon; Additional Deputy Commissioner-II, Ms. Saba; Focal Person Traffic, Javed Iqbal; all respective Taluka Assistant Commissioners; all DSPs; all TMCs; Anti-Encroachment Incharge, Ms. Rasheeda Bano; AD Anti-Encroachment Qasimabad; SHO AEF Hyderabad, Mr. Sanaullah Talpur; and all Anti-Encroachment Incharges of Town Municipal Corporations, along with DSPs of Traffic. The Deputy Commissioner reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to ensuring smooth traffic flow and reclaiming public spaces for the benefit of citizens. He stressed that any soft or hard encroachments found on-site would be removed immediately, with pushcarts and other encroached materials confiscated on the spot. The Anti-Encroachment Phase-I is set to commence on February 12, 2025. DC Hyderabad announced that parks, seating areas, and beautification projects would be initiated in areas where encroachments are removed. He emphasized the need for all civil society organizations and community groups to support the administration’s efforts rather than aiding encroachers. The district administration remains dedicated to restoring public spaces and ensuring an orderly urban environment in Hyderabad.
