We would like to inform that a new menu "SCSS TDS Refund" under GBM SCSS Module is developed for refund of excess TDS deducted at the time of interest payment in Senior Citizen Savings Scheme (SCSS). This menu in GBM will only allow refund of excess TDS deducted for a quarter, from the date of interest payment till 3rd of the next month. For an example, if interest is credited on 1st July 2024, excess deducted TDS can be refunded till 3rd August 2024 (if holiday on 3rd then system will allow till 4th August).
This menu can be used for reversing wrongly deducted TDS like non-feeding 15G/H or non-feeding of PAN which resulted in higher deduction of TDS at 10% or 20%, even though 15G/H or PAN was furnished by the customer or due to any system error etc. Please note that beyond the 3rd (or 4th as the case may be) of the next month, system will not allow to use this menu for reversing TDS.
Please bring the contents to the knowledge of all branches / staff members.
