The big question when Ruben Amorim’s line-up dropped was who would be playing up front. Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee were both on the bench for the first time under Amorim, leading to a guessing game before kick-off, with Alejandro Garnacho, Amad, and Bruno Fernandes the prime candidates for the centre-forward role. Kobbie Mainoo’s excellent display as a No 10 away to FCSB, when he scored and assisted for the first time in his career, presumably encouraged Amorim to try him in an even more advanced position.
