Transport Minister Felix Mhona has threatened to revoke the license of Urban Connect Bus Service after one of its buses was involved in a tragic accident that claimed 25 lives near Beitbridge on Thursday.
"Why was he racing towards the toll gate. We may have to remove them from service," Mhona said, expressing his outrage over the incident.
Speaking at a government-led joint funeral service for the victims, Mhona also urged Zimbabweans to refrain from recording videos at accident scenes, instead waiting for official communication.
"Let's have respect for the dead and wait for proper transmission of messages.
"We are likely to cause more harm than good. We will investigate causes of this accident and act," he emphasized.
Mhona's comments come as the country mourns the loss of life in the devastating accident.
The minister's warning to Urban Connect Bus Service serves as a stern reminder of the government's commitment to ensuring road safety and holding operators accountable for their actions.
