🧠Have you heard about these Alzheimer's supplements? Like curcumin, green tea, and lion's mane?
Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative condition that affects memory, thinking, and behavior. While research is ongoing, there’s no cure yet, and no definitive way to prevent it.
A viral social media reel, shared thousands of times, claims that these three supplements can “stop Alzheimer’s disease before it starts. ” But is there scientific evidence to support this assertion?

🍵Green Tea
Contains antioxidants called catechins that may protect the brain, but studies confirming this association are still preliminary.
One small study found that green tea extract improved cognitive function in older adults. However, more research is needed, especially in larger, diverse populations.
🍄Lion’s Mane
Some animal studies show it promotes nerve growth, but the evidence for this in humans is limited.
Two small studies suggest it can cause modest cognitive improvement, but more rigorous research is needed to confirm any benefits.
🟡Curcumin (from turmeric)
Known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, curcumin may help prevent beta-amyloid plaque buildup (a hallmark of Alzheimer’s).
The problem? It’s poorly absorbed by the body, and studies in humans are still inconclusive.
In short, while there's some promising lab research, there's limited evidence from animal studies and small clinical trials with humans to show that these supplements can prevent or cure Alzheimer's disease. *More large-scale clinical trials are needed to really know what works.*
It's important to note that supplements are not regulated as strictly as medications by the FDA, meaning they may not undergo the same rigorous safety testing as prescription drugs. Always consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new supplement regimen.
