Google Messages is the default messaging app on most Android phones. Even Samsung is now on board with the program. I’m talking about the app you use for your SMSes. Yes, it can send videos and pics and make calls but we have WhatsApp for that. Great news though, it appears those two apps will be playing together soon. Google Messages is expected to soon allow users to initiate WhatsApp video calls directly from the app, enhancing cross-platform communication. Currently, tapping the video call icon in Google Messages starts a Google Meet call, prompting users to install the app if they don't have it. Chances are you don’t have Meet installed and likely have no use for it. WhatsApp though, that’s the first app you installed. The potential WhatsApp integration was discovered through an APK teardown of Google Messages version 20250131, indicating future updates may include this feature. The feature is not yet available but is anticipated to be released in future updates, with ongoing monitoring for more information. It’s not a big deal but it’s something. Stay Updated.
