Today is Valentine’s Day, a time for lovers, although some view it as overly commercialized. Streets are filled with roses, beautiful outfits, and couples showing their affection openly.
Famous saxophonist Denilson Musekiwa announced he is fully booked for the day. "Valentine’s Day bookings were completed in December 2024. I will be surprising loved ones at various locations, finishing with dinner performances at restaurants," he said. Themed dinners earlier in the day will also help couples reignite their romance.
This is a great time for couples to reconnect, and singles might find new love opportunities. Various events are planned nationwide to celebrate the occasion, promising a vibrant weekend ahead.
In Harare, Alick Macheso will perform alongside Lady Storm at Steakhouse in Waterfalls. Known for his energetic shows, Macheso will deliver a mix of love songs. Lady Storm encouraged fans to come ready for a fun evening.
Following this event, Macheso will team up with Somandla “Mafia” Ndebele for another show at Blue Ridge Restaurant on February 15, featuring a lineup of love songs.
For art lovers, the National Gallery of Zimbabwe is hosting Wycliffe Mundopa’s exhibition, "Ibwe Rakaraswa Nemuvaki," showcasing art focused on love. Mundopa will also auction some pieces, making it a must-see for art enthusiasts.
Chimurenga music fans can look forward to Kurai Makore performing at Food Nest in Belvedere, Harare, starting at 8 PM. Attendees will receive free roses and wine, enhancing the festive atmosphere.
Dendera fans will enjoy Suluman Chimbetu at The Yard, performing a full set of love songs, including those by his late father.
In Chinhoyi, Mathias Mhere will headline a Love Festival at Chicken Lounge, attracting many fans for a midday celebration featuring local acts.
In Bulawayo, jazz singer Jeys Marabini will perform with Prosper Tshuma at Zarah Lounge, promising a romantic evening that starts at 6 PM.
Zimbabweans in South Africa can look forward to a Zim dancehall party featuring Jah Hanief and other local artists at Club Africa in Benoni.
Additionally, Pitshou Lumiere will launch his new single “Pete Pete” at Kin Malebo Bar in Johannesburg, coinciding with Valentine’s Day festivities.
