Strawberry is a foreign fruit and does not typically grow in our country's climate. However, I planted 1,500 saplings in Medinipur, and within a month, the plants started bearing fruit, which has now begun to ripen. Several experts have assisted me in this endeavor. I hope that people in our Jangalmahal region will develop an interest in strawberry cultivation. This fruit is sold in our markets for ₹400-₹450 per kilogram. Instead of importing strawberries from outside, if we can cultivate them within our district and eventually across the state, it will increase farmers' income. Overall, I am making efforts to introduce new agricultural practices in our state. Therefore, the promotion of strawberry farming is essential.
