Don't agree with IMD on monsoon withdrawal yesterday. Fresh easterlies will affect Tamilnadu coast from 31st January. Light to moderate rains possible for Tamilnadu on 31st and 1st Feb. Actually monsoon is a large scale weather phenomenon which is largely influenced by ITCZ. When itcz is below us it may be called NEM(OCT-MAY)and when it moves above us from june we call it SWM(JUNE-SEPTEMBER). We even see easterlies based rains in April, may which says monsoon are purely based on ITCZ movements. Human terms are just for creating a theory. Even my theory can't be fixed too as ITCZ movement will have a lag of 1 or 2 weeks based on sea surface temperature. More you learn about weather you will come to know weather can't be fixed like a theory like we do physics or chemistry.
