*I’m in love with how PharmEasy and four of its five cofounders have parted ways ❤️❤️* This is how it’s supposed to be. All with love and respect. Let me explain. .. *First, let’s understand how it all began.* PharmEasy started in 2015 and originally had two founders - Dharmil Sheth and Shaval Shah. In 2020, it merged with one of India’s largest pharmaceutical distributors, Ascent Health, whose cofounders were Harsh Parekh, Hardik Dedhia, and Siddharth Shah. That is how the joint behemoth (API Holdings) came into existence - With five co-founders. .. *Despite all the troubles the pricey debt-fuelled acquisition of Thyrocare caused last year, this fabulous fivesome built something crazy 👏👏* Think this way: Though I am not sure about 2024, in 2022 and 2023, PharmEasy was India’s largest buyer and seller of medicines after the Govt of India. It was also one of India’s largest offline distributors of medicines and owns and operates one of India’s most trusted diagnostics brands. .. *After building that over the years, the four co-founders decided to part ways and start something new in a non-compete space.* -> They approached the company’s board, investors and management with this in March 2024 -> For the last ten months, the four have delegated their functions and responsibilities, ensuring a smooth transition *Result?* Having completely taken over, the new team ensured an operational breakeven for the group last quarter! 👏👏 .. *And, it is only after that, the four launched a new venture, in which their fifth cofounder, PharmEasy CEO Siddharth Shah, also invested.* Many of PharmEasy’s current investors have also backed the new venture, which shows how much the investors like the founders. Plus, even as they have left to build something else, they have not sold their shares in PharmEasy and remain board members. All of this is so good!
