The theatre in North Point has been showcasing Cantonese Opera in Hong Kong since 1972. It was listed as one of the Top 25 Authentic Asian Experiences by the US Time in 2009.
The theatre also won the title of “Hong Kong’s Grand Palace for Cantonese Opera” in 1993 when it held 38 consecutive full-house shows in one season.
The theatre will close its door on 3 March and turn into an evangelical church.
